Winston-Salem, N.C., June 17, 2019 – Following a rigorous review process, PocketCop® is now FirstNet Certified™.

PocketCop® places real-time criminal and incident information into the hands of first responders using smartphones or tablet devices. Using the PocketCop® app, first responders have highly secure, immediate access to CJIS data sources, mission-critical BOLO’s, CAD Call assignments and messaging capabilities while on patrol or on foot, equipping them with actionable information to increase their situational awareness to make better-informed decisions at the point of enforcement.

“Caliber’s PocketCop® is already supporting over 2,000 first responders, at their fingertips, with critical information, communications, and tools to serve and protect their communities,” said Blair Robinson, Executive Vice President of Caliber. “We are honored to be joining the FirstNet ecosystem of trusted and innovative technologies, and we look forward to providing tremendous value to emergency responders.”

Agencies have relied on PocketCop® since 2002 to easily share visual information, increase responder confidence, and improve collaboration and communication while reducing radio traffic. It is trusted by local, state and federal agencies and has been employed during events of mass scale, such as the XIX Olympic Winter Games in 2002 and Super Bowl XXXVI.

Achieving a FirstNet Certified™ designation means PocketCop® is a heavily vetted and trusted solution for public safety, meeting FirstNet app requirements. Before any mobile solution can be added to the FirstNet App Catalog, it must pass stringent tests for security, relevancy, data privacy, and availability. As a FirstNet Certified™ app, PocketCop® has been confirmed to meet those requirements, as well as higher requirements for mobility, scalability, and resiliency.

Being built with AT&T, in public-private partnership with the First Responder Network Authority, FirstNet is bringing public safety a much-needed technology upgrade to help them connect to the critical information they need – every day and in every emergency.

“Through our work with first responders, we heard their need for innovative applications to assist with their lifesaving mission. FirstNet is helping to address these needs, and we are pleased to welcome PocketCop® to the FirstNet App Catalog,” said Mark Golaszewski, executive director of Technology and Innovation, First Responder Network Authority.
