Disconnected Operations – does your CAD have it?

When a disaster or emergency strikes, officials need to react immediately. If dispatchers become disconnected from emergency systems, their ability to make vital and timely life and death decisions becomes impaired. Typically, when faced with disconnection, dispatchers scramble for “the kit” — the cart filled with pencil and paper, so that the trained public safety specialists can prepare to use the paper-based system to mobilize emergency services to protect lives and property.

Now imagine that the system becomes disconnected, but operations continue as usual. No paper, no pencils and, most importantly, no worry. The dispatchers continue doing what they do best – saving lives and protecting property without missing a beat.

Caliber Public Safety’s Computer Aided Dispatch keeps working even when disconnected from the server, and when the storm has passed and the water has receded, the records created during the outage automatically update when the connection is restored — the workstations and server synchronize automatically. No special action is needed and the focus on saving lives and property continues, uninterrupted. And, there’s no “CAD catch-up” for data entry!

Meet your Nebraska Sales Account Manager, Mark Wooderson, at this year’s Nebraska APCO/NENA Conference to learn more about our Computer Aided Dispatch and the full suite of software solutions including RMSMobile, and NIBRS State Repository.
